BRUSA Sports worked with Ethan Macleod to secure his water polo scholarship in the USA, starting at West Valley College before transferring to Cal State Fullerton to complete his degree.

Throughout the process, we supported Ethan in building his profile, securing his first placement, and navigating his transfer pathway. As a result, he maximised both his athletic development and academic opportunities in the U.S.

College Career Progression

Ethan began his U.S. journey at West Valley College, where he quickly established himself as a standout player. Over two seasons, he recorded over 100 combined goals and assists. In addition, he earned All-American honours twice and received State Tournament Second-Team recognition.

Following his success at junior college level, Ethan transferred to Cal State Fullerton with a water polo scholarship to compete at a higher level and complete his degree.

Junior Season Highlights (2025)

At Cal State Fullerton, Ethan continued to perform at a high level:

  • 44 goals and 26 assists (70 total points)
  • Second-highest steals on the team (21)
  • 7 field blocks across the season
  • Season-high 4 goals vs Cal Lutheran and Redlands
  • Scored in 5 consecutive games (8 goals total)
  • 13 multi-goal games

The Juco Pathway

Ethan’s journey highlights the value of the junior college pathway. By starting at West Valley College, he gained valuable experience, exposure, and development. He then successfully transferred to Cal State Fullerton to continue his career.
