From South Africa to College Water Polo

Amber Lewis joined BRUSA Sports from Reddam House Umhlanga in South Africa. Her goal was to use her water polo ability to study and compete in the United States.

Amber already had an impressive academic and athletic profile. She represented her province in water polo and captained her school teams. In addition, she achieved outstanding results in the classroom.

Working closely together, BRUSA Sports helped Amber secure a water polo scholarship to Concordia University Irvine in California. There, she joined the Eagles women’s water polo program and began her U.S. college career.

Success at Concordia University Irvine

Amber made an immediate impact during her freshman season in 2026. She played in all 30 games and scored 41 goals. In addition, she recorded 12 assists and six steals.

Her 53 total points ranked fourth on the team. Furthermore, Amber earned Honorable Mention All-WWPA recognition during her first collegiate season.

Amber also helped Concordia Irvine make program history. The Eagles won the WWPA regular-season title and became WWPA Conference Tournament Champions. As a result, the team advanced to its first NCAA Women’s Water Polo Tournament.

From Water Polo Scholarship to NCAA Competition

Since then, Amber has taken full advantage of that opportunity. She has earned individual honours, won a conference championship and competed on the NCAA stage.
