BRUSA Sports worked with Catherine Mentz to secure a college water polo scholarship to Wagner College in New York. She now competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) while studying in the United States.

Throughout the process, we supported Catherine in building her profile, connecting with coaches, and identifying the right fit. As a result, she earned the opportunity to continue her academic and athletic career at a high level.

Before moving to the U.S., Catherine built a strong record in South Africa. She represented Eden Water Polo U19 at the SA Schools Interprovincial Tournament, where her team won the Outstanding Sportsmanship Trophy. In addition, she competed at both junior and senior national level and earned All-Star honours at the Reef Invitational.

In 2022, she achieved international success with the South Africa U17 National Team, helping secure first place at the EU Nations Cup in the Czech Republic.

Since joining Wagner, she has continued to excel academically. Notably, she earned back-to-back selections to the MAAC All-Academic Team.
