Louey Hurley is a talented rugby player from the United Kingdom. He began his journey at  Glynn School before moving to the U.S. collegiate level. His path shows dedication both on and off the field.

With support from BRUSA Sports, Louey secured an athletic scholarship to play rugby at Alderson Broaddus University in West Virginia. When the university later closed, we guided him through the transition. As a result, he transferred to Wayne State College  in Nebraska, where he continues to excel as a back.

At Wayne State College, Louey earned recognition as one of the top student-athletes in the country. He achieved a place on the Scholastic All-American Honours List,. This award celebrates outstanding college rugby players across the United States.

To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher for the academic year. In addition, they must be rostered for at least 50% of Fall 15s A-side matches or Spring 7s tournaments. Only about 1 in 18 athletes nationwide earn this honour. Therefore, Louey’s selection proves his commitment to rugby and academics.

BRUSA Sports is proud to have supported Louey on his U.S. college rugby journey. His success at Wayne State College shows what is possible with an athletic scholarship. Above all, his story highlights the opportunities available for international student-athletes.
